I'm Pip, a scrawny crossdressing British boy making little shadows of songs for American guys and girls. Visit me on YouTube and see my cute face.
This is the back wall of my bedroom, and on it are three big sheets of paper detailing my plans to rule the world. They probably look a bit silly. The bottom right corner of the pages has a table called “Deadlines” for things I’m gonna do before June.
One of the first deadlines for me is to finish a collection of three songs called “Torturous Winter”. I hope to share it with you very soon.

I don’t want to be the kind of person that will never post anything until it’s done and perfect. I think I throw away a lot of good ideas. It’s always scary, putting up something you’re not sure is worth somebody else’s time, but I think it’s a good way to show who I am, not giving myself the chance to edit myself away.
Here’s a little sketch of a song that I might finish one day - for now I recorded it in the dead of night, clumsily and quietly. It’s short, sad and simple and it’s part of a little collection about the Winter we’re just leaving. If you like it, let me know?

I think Anthony Green is a good person to model myself after. A girlier, British Anthony Green. Without the facial hair.
It’s the early hours of the morning, and I’ve decided I need to break my cycle of late nights and pointless days. So I’m staying awake until I can’t do anything useful any more, in protest against my stupid self.
Join me, it’s right now and soon we’ll be dead, we can’t waste a moment.
If you understand, come with me,
Pip
before i had bright eyes, but this is the worst day of my life
Thanks so much to the little swarm of people who followed and subscribed to me over the last couple of weeks! I’m going to be showing off a bunch of stuff for you very soon, once I’m done with my next assignment at university. Until then, here’s a little musical preview of what you can expect - I’m so excited to show you this snippet, it’s a song that I’ve been sitting on a long time. Please tell me what you think! As ever, you can email me at pxiepip@con-cult.com
Patrick Stump released his EP, Truant Wave, yesterday. I haven’t given it a proper listen yet, but it’s interesting what he’s done with Love Selfish Love - I’m glad it isn’t too similar to my YouTube cover, which I think is pretty good in separate ways to his original.
I’ll be doing another video very soon, too, so stay tuned.

what is CON-CULT?
CON-CULT is the little world I made for my music. Quirky little characters live out their stories in it, and some of them have music that accompanies their adventures. Above are a pair of characters called Carnivorous Conway + Average Penny.
I’ll be showing you some more characters and the music that follows them soon!
i’ve got nothing to confess
Hopefully one or two people might have gotten here from my new cover of Patrick Stump’s “Love Selfish Love”. If you did, thanks for clicking through, I’ve got more tracks on the way that I hope you’ll like.
I loved that track when I first heard it on a quite well-hidden recording from SXSW a while back, and when Stump mentioned that he’d moved along from it last year in working on his album, I was upset. Luckily he saw fit to revive it in his recent session at Rolling Stone, giving me the chance to figure out the chords and lyrics. I’ll put them in a “Read More”, so just click through to see them if you want to sing along.
lovers in love with the sound
Here’s a little example of the kind of music I make - it’s a cover of a song by Smashing Pumpkins from their album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. The song’s called Cupid De Locke, which is supposedly titled after the Cupid of Matthew Locke’s ballet “Cupid and Death”. Locke was an English baroque composer. In the ballet, Cupid and Death each fire from a quiver of arrows - Cupid’s cause his target to fall in love, and Death’s cause their death.
